The International Swimming Hall Of Fame Announces Jose Luis Vaquero Benito Of Spain
As Recipient Of The
2013 John K. Williams Int’l Adapted Aquatics Award

Fort Lauderdale – The Adapted Aquatics Awards Committee of the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) is pleased to announce that Jose Luis Vaquero Benito, of Spain, has been named the recipient of the John K. Williams Jr. International Adapted Aquatics Award for 2013. Mr. Vaquero has been involved in adapted aquatics with individuals with visual impairments as well as individuals with all types of disabilities for many years. He has been a member of the National Delegation and Team Leader of the Spanish Paralympics Delegation for Swimming since the 1988 Seoul Olympics and is currently the National Selector of the Spanish Federation for Sport for the Blind. In addition Mr. Vaquero worked for the Spanish Paralympics Committee for the 2012 Paralympics Games in London. We are pleased to have such a distinguished recipient for the John K. Williams Jr. Adapted Aquatics Award who represents the quality of adapted aquatics programs internationally. The award will be presented in conjunction with ISHOF’s 49th Annual Induction Weekend, on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale. About the J John K. Williams, Jr. International Adapted Aquatics Award: Honoring An Individuals Serving Persons With Disabilities. Established in 1994 by ISHOF’s Adaptive Aquatics Committee this award honors an individual who has made significant and substantial contributions to the field of adaptive aquatics (aquatics for persons with physical disabilities) as a participant, athlete, teacher, instructor, coach, organizer, administrator or media representative.
