The International Swimming Hall of Fame's film and video archive, which dates to the 1920's, is the most extensive and comprehensive in the world. As we continue to preserve and transfer footage from film to DVD, we will be adding to the virtual archive so that historic events from aquatic history can be enjoyed throughout the world.

Jim Moran, entrepreneur, automotive marketing innovator, cancer survivor, philanthropist and 1995 recipient of the International Swimming Hall of Fame’s Gold Medallion Award, passed away on April 24, 2007, in Hillsboro Beach, Florida. He was 88.

In the late 1990’s, Jim and Jan Moran and JM Family Enterprises established the “Moran Learn to Swim Endowment Fund” at the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

In his Gold Medallion acceptance speech in 1995, Jim said that he always noticed that swimmers where “hard workers and had the highest moral values.”  These were traits that he admired and not coincidentally many of his employees were swimmers.
