The International Swimming Hall of Fame's film and video archive, which dates to the 1920's, is the most extensive and comprehensive in the world. As we continue to preserve and transfer footage from film to DVD, we will be adding to the virtual archive so that historic events from aquatic history can be enjoyed throughout the world.

Duncan Armstrong
Going into the Games of 1988, Duncan was a relatively obscure swimmer.  He had won the 400m freestyle at the Commonwealth Games but his International experience was limited.  He was ranked 46th in the world in the year prior to the Olympics, but swimming in Australia’s "Lucky Lane 6,"  he pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Olympic history.
